I think visiting a zoo is the most must activity we need to do in Australia because you don’t have any chance to cuddle a koala or watch kangaroos jumping in Taiwan. Today Lily and I took the bus 430 from Cultural Centre to Lone Pine. If including the journey from our home, Sunny Bank, to Cultural Centre, we spent 1 hour and 20 minutes totally to Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary.

It was the show time of our student ID cards. The entry fee was 24 dollars for concession price per each.

It was the time table of activities.

After entering, we just caught up with the Lorikeet Feeding show in time. There were many colorful lorikeets waiting for eating. It was not easy to hold the food box when these lorikeets were standing on that. They were really heavy.

The noisy lorikeets.

It was also the feeding time of goats in the barn.

Don't hurry!!

You were really hungry...

A chicken-like animal, an iguana and crocodiles.

These emus were very friendly unlike ostriches that would bite you if close to them but we were still a little bit afraid of them since they looked kind of fierce.

This was the first time to see a real kangaroo in front of me that were not good-looking and had many wounds on their faces. Maybe they fought in order to gain the higher position than others. Some kangaroo were very big but very lazy and they seemed to be accustomed to human beings since they were not afraid of me even I stepped to them.

Run! Kangaroo! Run!

This was a koala cuddling area. There were two koalas held by staffs working now and their job was to take a photo with us, tourists.

IMG_0078.JPG

You need to buy a ticket in advance to take a photo with a koala that cost 16 dollars. You also had other options, making a calendar for example.

IMG_0079.JPG

The koala was very soft like a baby whose action was very slow and fur was very tender as well.

It was the bird of prey flight show. You could still see the tail of mouse hanging on the corner of the owl’s mouse while the owl was swallowing a whole mouse.

Doesn't it look handsome and haughty!

The sheep dog & sheep shearing show.

These sheep were herded by the clever sheep dogs.

The staff took less than 5 minutes to take off the cloth from the sheep.

Before lunch let’s check out our souvenirs, one koala cuddling photo and three postcards.

Who said you were lazy? Definitely you were active!!!

A brush think-knee, a kookaburra, a dingo, a parrot and a platypus.

IMG_0091.JPG

What are you looking for, kookaburra?

A duck couple, a parentie and some bats.

IMG_0092.JPG

The sneezing batman.

A barking owl and a new arrival, Golden Brushtail Possum.

IMG_0093.JPG

Because the wombat didn't want to see us, we just took a photo with a wombat doll.

Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary was not big but there were many kinds of symbolic animals here. Next time we would go to the most important zoo, Australia Zoo, if we had enough budget and time.

So if you still want to see some special animals here,
